Magnificent coffee table designed by Ekselius and produced by the Swedish house JOC in the 1960s. It is essential and radical, in the purest Scandinavian style. The graphic, clean lines and rosewood veining make this table an elegant and timeless choice. Karl Erik Ekselius studied cabinetmaking in Germany and then began studying furniture design at Carl Malmsten’s school in Stockholm. He worked for J. O. Carlsson (later known as JOC Möbel AB) in Vetlanda and became the owner of the company in 1961. He is one of the leading Swedish designers of the Scandinavian modernist movement, loving to work with richly grained essences such as rosewood and teak.
