Description
Born in 1938 in Auzolle-Grande, Gaston Planet died in Nantes in 1981.
After studying fine arts in Nantes and the Jullian academy in Paris, Gaston Planet devoted himself to painting. Since 1961 he has exhibited his work in various museums, cultural centers and galleries. Among others at the Musée de l’Abbaye Sainte-Croix in Les Sables d’Olonne in 1974, the NRA Gallery in Paris, at the Atelier rue Sainte Anne in Brussels in 1979, at the French Cultural Centre in Rome in 1980, at the Graslin Centre in Nantes in 1981 and at the Musée d’Art Moderne in Paris in January 1982.
In 1977 he exhibited his work of free canvases and frottages at the Lyon contemporary art space in the company of the main artists of the “Support Surface” movement, notably Claude Viallat and Noël Dolla.
