Kassia Knap
Born in Krakow, Poland
Born in Krakow, Poland, Kassia Knap has lived and worked in Paris since September 1989. In 1993, she obtained the Prix Fénéon, then participated several times in the Salon de Montrouge, before being spotted by Alain Tapié who compared his work to that of Philippe de Champaigne at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille in 2007 for an exhibition around the fold.
She then joined the collection of Antoine de Galbert then the Christophe Gaillard gallery with whom she collaborated until June 2020. His work has been presented at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille, at the Maison Rouge in Paris, at Art dans les Chapelles, at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, at the Musée National de la Céramique in Sèvres. It has been reviewed in the pages of Le Figaro, Liberation, Le Quotidien de l’Art. In 2024, his painting “On the Edge of the Worlds” joins the permanent collection of the Musée du Hiéron in Paray-le-Monial, France.
