sold – Borge Mogensen armchair Hunting Lodge 1955 by Erhard Rasmussen

Borge Mogensen armchair Hunting Lodge 1955: model created in 1950 in pre-series and modified in 1955 by Borge Mogensen for the annual exhibition in Copenhagen. Produced by Erhard Rasmussen, with his original label.

Indeed this armchair “Hunting Lodge Chair” by Borge Mogensen is a historical and very rare model. The designer created a first version of this armchair in 1950 for the annual exhibition in Copenhagen, for his cabinetmaker of the “pre-series” Erhard Rasmussen. He then developed the model by equipping it with round feet and a crossbeam and it is this model that was exhibited, still by Erhard Rasmussen, at the Copenhagen exhibition in 1955 (see extract from Greta Jalk’s book with the text and photo of the 1955 model). This armchair was never published and we do not know how many models Erhard Rasmussen was able to produce, but very few since his manufactures for Mogensen were prototypes or pre-series.
