Description
This rare sofa from the 400 series by Hartmut Lohmeyer for Wilkhahn is a tribute to craftsmanship. Its cleverly woven wicker backrest and delicate cherry wood frame give it its elegance. The flowing organic shapes of the finely crafted armrests and the slightly curved crossbar in the rear area of the backrest stand out. A webbing belt forms the basis of the seating comfort, covered as in the original, with a protection made of fabrics, coconut fibers. As a freelance architect and furniture designer, Lohmeyer mainly developed furniture for living spaces for Wilkhahn in the 1950s and 1960s.
